2013 White House Correspondents’ Dinner

This was a solid set. President Obama’s obviously not a comic, but his delivery is pretty sharp. And this performance was remarkably different from years before. A lot of Obama’s jokes were risky; you can hear a lot of people groaning after them. It’s admirable that he just didn’t give a shit and powered through. “2nd TERM, BITCHES. I DON’T CARE WHAT YOU THINK!”

Regarding Stephen Spielbergs’s Obama, I’ll watch it as long as it’s not 3 hours long.

The President’s a tough act to follow, and it’s always an uphill battle for the guest comic (unless you’re Leno, then you can just coast). But Conan killed it. I expected nothing less. Came straight out of the gate and did what he does best. (Note to self: jokes about FOX News always work.

Campaigns are tricky, tricky, tricky, tricky…

I think Bill Clinton made passionate love to America last night. As a writer-performer (Yeah– I’m well aware that I sound like an asshole), the man absolutely DESTROYED. He went into hardcore statistics and policy wonkery, and that crowd was still in the palm of his hand. 48 minutes long; I hardly notice. I think Bill Clinton Talks into a Microphone is my favorite new show.

AMERICA! F@%K YEAH!

LBJ orders pants. (Seriously)

Put This On: LBJ Buys Pants from Put This On on Vimeo.

Yes, that was Lyndon Baines Johnson, the 36th President of the United States of America. That was LBJ ordering pants and talking about his “nuts” and his “bunghole.” (That’s good ol’ Southern charm for you!)

Why doesn’t FOX News bring this up? At least it’s a little bit implicating. But no, the only person who ever tarnished the dignity of the office was this guy:

Driving the lane... to national destruction.
